On February 4, 2025, Jocelyn Rojo Carranza took her own life. She was depressed following a classroom visit by the school principal to discuss the I.C.E. arrests in her Gainesville, Texas area. Afterword she and other Hispanic students were teased that their parents were going to be deported.
